Ainavilli Sri Vigneswara Swamy Temple, the deity who removes obstacles and grants the first worship, is a prominent self-manifested temple located in the Konaseema region of East Godavari district. Here, the Lord appeared as a self-manifested (Swayambhu) deity from a single stone during the Krita Yuga. This temple is considered to be older than the Kanipakam temple. The Vinayaka here fulfills the desires of devotees and is regarded as a precious gem by them. The temple is situated 11 km from Amalapuram, 60 km from Rajahmundry, and 65 km from Kakinada. It is said that Daksha’s Yagna (sacrifice) was disrupted because he did not worship the Lord at this temple before performing the Yagna. Therefore, devotees firmly believe that any auspicious event undertaken after worshiping the Lord of Ainavilli will surely be successful. According to the Sthala Purana, it is believed that Sage Vyasa first installed the idol of Vinayaka here before embarking on his journey to South India.
On the occasion of Magha Shuddha Panchami, also known as Sri Panchami, a grand celebration called the "Sri Ganapati Saraswati Kalpa Prayukta Sapta Nadi Jalabhisheka Laksha Kalamula Vitarana Mahotsavam" is conducted with great splendor in honor of Lord Vighneshwara, the source of knowledge. During this event, water from the seven sacred rivers of India is used to perform the holy ablution (Jalabhisheka) of the deity. Pens, which are kept at the feet of the deity, are then distributed to students, with the belief that it will enhance their intellectual abilities and success in learning.
